If you want to form bonds with your employees, here’s a tip: do something fun with them outside of work! With “fun” I don’t necessarily mean going for some drinks after hours. How about going to a ballgame or do other fun things with your staff?
So it happened that we started to have fun every Saturday where we meet at our local horseracing track in the afternoon.
There is only one rule, no work-related talk is allowed We really want to spend a fun time at the track together as a way to wind down and relax from a often busy and stressful week.
Let me tell you, it works beautifully! Our folks love the weekends at the racetrack and we now have more than twice as many coming then we had when we started with this!
Now, obviously we don’t want anyone going broke at the tracks but betting of course belongs to horseracing, simply for more excitement and more fun!
Some of us now even started with thinking about various horse racing strategies. This is always a great topic since most guys have the one or the other thing to say about this. Mike and Jeremy even started a journal where they write-down all the race results. The idea here is to find those outsiders that might have better chances to win.
Herman found a source for free horse racing tips, this is another thing which we will be trying next Saturday.
If you’re still looking for something cool to do with your employees, maybe you’ll find something similar in your area. It doesn’t have to be horse racing, simply ask around what people would like to do. Maybe you could visit a gym, go swimming or go to the movies. You will see how doing something like this can greatly benefit your business!
